Improving access to water in the Nafana region

To provide better-quality water to the inhabitants of the 15 villages that make up the Nafana district and curb the onset of water-borne diseases.

Our two Artelia volunteers used their skills to continue assisting villagers in the water sector. They carried out a study and produced a report recommending work to be carried out to improve the quality of the installations and the water supply for each village.

It was a powerful human experience, marked by the encounter with Tiédaba KONE, who has been president of the association for 14 years and demonstrates remarkable tenacity and perseverance in his efforts to provide his community in the Nafana canton with access to clean and sufficient water. I also met authentic, generous, and resilient villagers—men and women who work the land and keep smiling despite daily challenges; the dedicated team of the Nafana Water Users Association, committed to raising awareness among the population; and sincere political leaders who are ready to help improve access to water.

In the context of climate change, this mission prompted real reflection on our daily use of water (reuse, conservation, etc.). We don't need as much as we think.
