The Charity :  The R-ARE workshop (Reuse - Adaptation Resources Employment)

The R-ARE workshop is an economic integration structure (SIAE) founded in 2019, member of the Emmaus movement, which runs an integration site specialized in the reuse of wood waste from the building industry. The aim is to reuse and recycle wood waste, supposed to end up in a landfill site, while helping unemployed people, out of the job market, improve their skills.

The Project: Manufacture Reuse of wood - Circular Economy
The project is to transform a former industrial wasteland into an carpentry workshop, dedicated to the reuse of waste wood from the construction industry. The first circular workshop specializes in the reuse of solid wood in order to avoid their burial. The workshop is collecting, processing and transforming this waste and makes raw material for new furniture or coverings, while developing a creative, rewarding and formative activity for people far from employment.
Atelier R-ARE intends to contribute to reducing the impact of building waste while preserving our natural resources and promoting the creation of new transitional jobs.
They wish to set up a workshop with the lowest environmental impact possible.

Expected outcome
This project will have a direct impact on employees who will be able to gain skills in wood working or revalorization of building wastes and thus have a permanent job. In addition to the social impact, the project has an ecological ambition and will prevent the release of an average of 30 tons of CO2 into the air per year.
