Aid for flood victims in Thailand

In late November 2025, heavy rain caused severe flooding in southern Thailand. In the city of Hat Yai, water levels reached up to 2.5 metres in some places, forcing many families to take refuge on the roofs of their homes and resulting in the loss of a large proportion of their belongings.

In response to this situation, the Artelia Foundation has drawn on its emergency fund to support Enfants du Mékong’s relief efforts for the affected communities. Thanks to its local presence and knowledge of the area, the organisation was able to quickly identify the priority needs of the hardest-hit families.

Initially, teams carried out visits to local residents to assess the extent of the damage and provide immediate assistance. Food and hygiene kits were distributed to 180 families to meet their basic needs in the days following the disaster.

The response then continued with support for the rehabilitation of homes and the return to normal daily life. The project helped families to replace damaged belongings, purchase furniture, repair their homes and buy essential supplies, including school uniforms for the children.
