Last September, a particularly powerful typhoon hit Vietnam, as well as China, Burma, the Philippines, Thailand and Laos, killing more than 650 people and injuring thousands more.

In order to provide the best possible humanitarian support to the local population, an emergency fund will be provided to the local association Enfants du Mékong, with which we have been working for several years. Although Enfants du Mékong is not an NGO specialising in humanitarian emergencies, it has been present in the field for over 20 years, has strong local roots (in unstable areas, with no affiliation to the national authorities) and has already responded to humanitarian crises on the Asian continent (the Tsunami in 2004, and typhoons Nargis and Haiyan in 2008 and 2013).

We're delighted to announce the winners of our Engage 2025 Award, which encourages solidarity and environmental initiatives by passionate students. Drum roll... here are the five winning projects! 

The Artelia Foundation wishes to encourage solidarity and/or environmental protection initiatives undertaken by students as part of their higher education curriculum, or as part of their collective commitments. In line with the Artelia Foundation's commitment to fostering the involvement of its employees, this call for projects encourages young adults to get involved in initiatives of general interest, by applying the skills and expertise acquired during their studies.

Before we get the new year off to a flying start, we'd like to take a look back at our key figures, our flagship projects, our highlights and some of our volunteers' testimonials!

This new call for projects aims to support initiatives designed to protect the oceans and preserve marine biodiversity, particularly in connection with combating marine pollution.

This year, the Artelia Foundation is committed to supporting six organizations that work towards the preservation of biodiversity and climate.

Today, we take a moment to reflect on our collective journey as an environmentally and socially committed Foundation. 

In 2021, UN climate (IPCC) and biodiversity (IPBES) experts publish a joint report attesting to the need for integrated management of climate change and biodiversity loss.

Thanks to the efforts and performances of our participants, we have raised €15,000, all of which will be donated to the non-profit organisations AFEMAC, KSH and Aux Captifs, la libération!

Many Artelia employees got involved in the Ma Petite Planète Challenge and the TrashTag Challenge Artelia organised by the Artelia Foundation. This is a fine example of our determination to help preserve our environment.

Interviewed by the Alliance pour le Mécénat de Compétences (AMC), Benoît Clocheret, Artelia's Chief Executive Officer, explains the reasons for the Group's commitment to this scheme, which helps to unite employees around civic-minded and charitable actions.
 

The Artelia Foundation has been committed to improving living conditions since its inception and has been spearheading a climate contribution initiative since 2021. This year, it has decided to launch a call for projects entitled ‘Acting for a mutually supportive energy transition’. 

We invite you to discover (or rediscover) the actions carried out thanks to the involvement of Artelia Group employees through solidarity leave assignments, skills-based philanthropy and special events (clothing donation drive, TrashTag Challenge, Giving Tuesday and other donation collections). Together, let's continue our commitment to social, societal and environmental causes.

Artelia Group employees got involved in Giving Tuesday by donating hygiene products to local partner associations. An engaging cause that aims to combat the lack of hygiene;

In 2022, the circular economy is at the heart of the Foundation's actions. A call for projects was launched in February, and almost 100 projects were submitted to us by non-profit organisations that have taken the issue fully on board. Their aim? To preserve resources and limit waste by promoting reuse and recycling. The Artelia Foundation was particularly interested in three of these projects and decided, for the first time, to invite Artelia Group employees to vote for their favourite.

In March 2022, the Board of Directors of the Artelia Foundation committed to deploying an emergency fund of €50,000 to help the victims of the conflict in Ukraine.

As part of its commitment to climate protection, the Artelia Foundation launched its first two calls for projects on this topic in February. The themes chosen, the protection of blue carbon ecosystems and the circular economy, resonate with the Artelia Group's business lines. 

To mark World Environment Day, the Artelia Foundation and the Artelia Group's Mobility - Environment - Sustainable Development Commission organised the second edition of the TrashTag Challenge, an environmental awareness event involving the collection of litter.

The Artelia subsidiary in the Philippines agreed to donate this year's Christmas party funds to vulnerable communities particularly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In partnership with La Cravate Solidaire, a non-profit organisation which since 2012 has been helping people in employment support schemes to succeed in their professional projects, the Artelia Foundation organised the following event last May

Through its "Climate Contribution" strategic component, the Artelia Foundation has decided to participate in the collective global effort to achieve net zero by supporting projects that promote the circular economy through the mobilisation of the technical skills of Artelia Group employees and a financial contribution.

Every kilometre counts!

The Artelia Foundation is counting on the sporting commitment of Artelia Group employees to support three new non-profit organisations in 2022: Baan Dek Foundation, L'Appel and Le Rocher.

From 30 November to 7 December 2021, the Artelia Foundation supported Artelia Group sites wishing to get involved in organising a collection of food, toys and board games for local non-profit organisations.

In partnership with La Cravate Solidaire, a non-profit organisation that facilitates access to employment for people entering or re-entering the workforce by combating discrimination based on appearance, the Artelia Foundation organised a clothing drive in June.

On 3 June 2021, the Artelia Foundation and the Artelia Group’s Mobility and Sustainable Development Commission organised the TrashTag Challenge, an ecological awareness-raising event to collect litter around our sites. 
 

On 16 June 2020, as part of the COVID-19 emergency fund, Artelia Vietnam employees met the residents and employees of Maison Chance* located in the Binh Tan district. Food, school supplies and toys were collected and distributed to the children of Village Chance. A real moment of sharing!
