Aid for victims of the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon

From March 2026, the escalation of hostilities in Lebanon triggered a serious humanitarian crisis. Air strikes and successive evacuation orders have led to the displacement of more than a million people, whilst many families have sought refuge in overcrowded accommodation centres, unfinished buildings or makeshift shelters. The need for healthcare, hygiene products, psychological support and essential supplies has risen rapidly.

In response to this situation, the Artelia Foundation has drawn on its emergency fund to support the work of Amel, a humanitarian organisation that has been active in Lebanon for over forty years. Thanks to its network of centres and mobile units deployed across the country, the organisation has been able to provide a rapid response to displaced people and the most vulnerable communities.

Amel’s work focuses on several essential needs, including access to healthcare, the protection of vulnerable people, psychosocial support and the distribution of essential supplies. The teams work directly with affected families to ensure the continuity of healthcare and support services in a particularly dire situation.

Particular attention is paid to children, the elderly, pregnant women and people suffering from chronic illnesses, whose situation is exacerbated by population displacement and overburdened infrastructure.
