Carrying out a geological study
Carrying out a geological survey of a 20-hectare site to identify the presence of water at a depth of around 300 metres. The aim of this project is to guarantee access to drinking water for the population of Menkao in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The borehole is now complete, with only the tank to be finalised. The community and the drilling company have really contributed to the success of the project. My job was to check the skills of the company before drilling began, and also to guarantee and inform the community of the process. When drilling began, discussions in the field with the person in charge of monitoring the project helped us to understand the various stages and any incidents that might occur.
