Facilitating Young People's Access to Employment in the Philippines
Supporting young Filipino students from disadvantaged backgrounds as they prepare to enter the labour market, with a view to enhancing their employability and facilitating their access to a first, sustainable job upon completion of their studies.
Staff from Artelia Philippines shared their expertise with students supported by Enfants du Mékong as part of the ‘Job Hunting Seminar’ programme. They led practical workshops on job hunting, writing CVs and cover letters, preparing for job interviews, and gaining an insight into the world of work. This initiative enabled the students to gain a better understanding of employers’ expectations and to develop the skills needed to enter the workforce.
It was truly an enriching experience that I will always remember. By giving them advice on job hunting, writing a CV and preparing for an interview, we were able not only to share our knowledge, but also to build a personal connection with them. Hearing their stories – their struggles, their determination and their gratitude – was a source of incredible humility and inspiration. Rose Ann
