Sustainably improving access to safe drinking water in Bafou-Nord

To bring about a sustainable improvement in access to safe drinking water and sanitation in the rural region of Bafou-Nord, Cameroon, in order to meet the needs of local communities facing difficulties in accessing water resources and to help improve their living conditions and health.
Two Artelia staff members travelled to Bafou-Nord to support the HAMAP-Humanitaire teams in identifying solutions tailored to the region’s needs. They drew on their expertise to carry out an assessment of the existing infrastructure, analyse the communities’ needs and identify ways to improve water and sanitation services. This mission helped to prepare for the project’s future activities and to strengthen the conditions for sustainable access to drinking water for the region’s inhabitants.

This mission was a real opportunity to show solidarity and work together with some wonderful, motivated people keen to help their region develop. It gave me the chance to share our ways of working in France with people who were keen to learn. On a personal level, it was an incredible life experience with some unforgettable people, in a remote and beautiful region!’ says Antoine.
