Aid for victims of the earthquake in Burma

In order to provide the best possible humanitarian support to the local population, an emergency fund will be provided to the local association Enfants du Mékong, with which we have been working for several years. Although Enfants du Mékong is not an NGO specialising in humanitarian emergencies, it has been present in the field for over 20 years, has strong local roots (in unstable areas, with no affiliation to the national authorities) and has already responded to humanitarian crises on the Asian continent (the Tsunami in 2004, and typhoons Nargis and Haiyan in 2008 and 2013).
The aim? A 3-stage action plan, the first of which obviously covers urgent post-earthquake needs: bringing food, water and basic necessities to the Burmese people and protecting them by creating temporary shelters and study areas.
In the longer term, the Artelia Foundation will be working on the post-emergency and development stages, in the hope of rekindling hope among the local population.
