Help for victims of typhoon Yagi in Vietnam

Last September, a particularly powerful typhoon hit Vietnam, as well as China, Burma, the Philippines, Thailand and Laos, killing more than 650 people and injuring thousands more.

In order to provide the best possible humanitarian support for the local population, an emergency fund was provided to the @ActionEducation association, enabling it to meet the vital needs of the communities affected by the typhoon, ensure continuity of education and restore the means of subsistence for the worst affected households.

The grant helped to build a 108m3 water tank for the Ta Cuy Ti boarding school, restore and secure a building at the Nam Cay pre-school and install a 5.5km link between the Nam Det primary school and a reliable source of drinking water.

This emergency response project is coming to an end, and feedback from stakeholders at all levels has been very positive, particularly in terms of restoring health and schooling conditions, and supporting the resumption of income-generating activities.
