Creating a common space

Regulatory and technical support for the construction of a wooden shelter in the community gardens in the Raba district of Talence. This structure is part of a project aimed at identifying the difficulties encountered by young girls and women in the public space. The Artelia Foundation has also contributed a grant of €5,000 towards the cost of materials, studies and services.

The support of the Artelia Foundation has enabled us to transform a research idea into a grass-roots action project. The grant made it possible for young people from disadvantaged neighbourhoods to build this inclusive facility in the public space during an educational work camp. Skills-based philanthropy has enabled us to build up our skills in consultancy and project engineering, with a particular focus on urban development. This technical and operational support has given us credibility and legitimacy in the eyes of the public authorities, who are key players in the implementation of such a project, which we are initiating but which remains relatively far removed from our traditional field of action.
